Google reported great earnings and stock went up 60 points. Amazon reported surprising earnings and the stock went up 13%. The difference is that Amazon's Price Earnings is 250 while Google is hovering below 40. Amazon has a lot more to prove with it's cloud services and retail endeavors. Did Walmart have such a high price earnings in it's first twenty years?

Snapchat introduced a new advertising format in its discover section. There was a new re rectangle clearly marked sponsored for HBO. There was a sequence of five snaps for HBO shows followed by a snap to swipe up for a free episode that went to HBO's website. If a company is willing to pay for access to the discover screen, this may be a good source of revenue. Facebook usually has a sponsored story on the first screen of your news feed.

It dovetails well into the recent interest in Bitcoin in 2017, an electronic currency with a limited supply. A large amount of government money was used to clean up the subprime mess in 2007.
